Long time, no blog!

Firstly, sorry for the lack of updates in well… Forever! Many of you have probably wondered why we weren’t at the World Cup Weymouth or the Europeans. Unfortunately, we have been faced with an injury within our team. On a beautiful summers day we were out in Weymouth Bay, Flora unfortunately knelt down on a block, at the time we continued our training session, as we also did the next day. As it turns out, it wasn’t the best idea to continue. The following day Flora went to see the specialists at Bisham Abbey to have some scans, the result was not good… Torn ligaments and unable to sail for 10 weeks!

Whilst Flora has been beasting it up in the gym I have been sailing with boys as well as taking the opportunity to sail other types of boats. I have also been part of team building and corporate entertainment with Spinnaker Yachts, www.spinnaker-yachts.com. I was fortunate enough to be part of a great charity, the Transformation Trust, with Galiford Try as the sponsors, who made it possible to give the opportunity to inner city schools to come sailing. We had up to 8 schools compete in the heats, with the top 2 teams going through to the finals. Congratulations to the winners, Carshalton Boys Sports College!

Plans in the next few weeks include work experience at the Americas Cup Series Portsmouth, very excited! Cowes Week in the Etchells class and then fingers crossed Flora and I will be back to training in the FX.

A big thank you to UK Sport, EIS and the support staff at the RYA for providing first class rehab to get us back to sailing ASAP.

Ciao for now
